OK...this has been up in the air for awhile, but now we are ready to go. I am still looking for more girls ages 8 - 11/12. Our first meeting is going to be this Friday from 10:30 - noon. Please notify me if you are interested in joining us. For further information on the troop or our schedule please visit our webpage.

| Jess, Katie will be 8 in June. Would she be able to participate or would you suggest we find a homeschool Brownie troop? She really wants to do Girl Scouts, but the Daisy group is too young for her. |

Jess, I would like to find out if there is a home school Girl Scout group in Rio Rancho. Could you tell me how I might find out? Bridget |

Julie- I don't believe that there are any homeschool Brownie troops set up. I think the Daisy troop and our Junior Troop are the only ones set up specifically for Homeschoolers at this time. I don't know if she would be able to join our group. I am not sure how strict council is on the age guidelines. Feel free to contact me by phone or email to remind me to check into this for you. My contact info is on the website under contact us.
Thank you for your interest and I will see what I can do.
Bridget- For Juniors we are the only Homeschool troop at this time. By what I understand, there were no homeschool troops for Chaparral Council until this school year. The Daisy troop was set up first and now our Junior troop. I believe there are still no troops set up for Brownies, Cadettes or Seniors. I would assume next year that the Daisy troop will move up to Brownies, so over time hopefully there will be more options for Homeschoolers.
We would love to have you join our troop, if the meeting time would work for you. I know Jordan keeps asking if Ivy is going to join our troop. I just hadn't gotten around to asking you. Your other option, if you would rather stay in Rio Rancho would be to find a troop either through one of the schools or possibly through a church. You may be able to find a troop that meets in a community center or someone's home. Your best bet would be to contact the Chaparral Council office if you decide to go that route. They should have some way to get you in touch with troops in the area.
Hope this helps!

Thank you, Jess. Tell Jordan that I am sorry but we won't be able to join right now because the drive would be too much with what we do already. Thank you for the info. I will look into it. Bridget |

No problem!
I understand. I have lived in Rio Rancho, (way out Rio Rancho - almost Bernalillo) and in Paradise Hills and we did too much driving.
I love that we are living in a more central location again. Pretty much anything that comes up is close and nothing is really much of a drive anymore. My husband is also glad to be rid of the long commute to work. Now he is close enough that he can come home for lunch whenever he wants.
By the way, it was nice seeing you today. I am glad they have a better option for you for the sewing class, but sad you will be leaving our class. Maybe we can get the girls together sometime. Let me know if you are ever going to be stuck in Albuquerque for awhile with nothing to do or maybe we can swing out your way some day.
Take care. |

Jess, It was great seeing you, too! Thanks again! Let Jordan know that Ivy said she had fun sewing next to her. Jordan is such a sweetheart!! I hope to see you both at some more things. Bridget |
