I'm new to the boards.  In fact, I have not even had time to look around, but I wanted to introduce myself right off the bat.  I have three kids, ages 5 years (girl) 3 years (boy) and 11 months (boy).  We are planning to start home schooling this Fall and I would like to meet other home schooling families for encouragement and fellowship.

Well, I'm going to read the boards and see if I can learn my way around.

Hey El.  Glad to see you made it on.  I think you will really like this group.  I know I alreadt feel right at home with the wonderful moms here.  Let me know if you have any questions about what types of activities they have.

Hi there. I also have a 5 year old that we're going to start homeschooling this year. Have you made any decisions as far as curriculum? Hope to meet you someday soon.

Hi Elizabeth,
It's nice to "meet" you!
I have a curriculum set from the Lamb Company.  I think in the future I'll just put together a Frankenstein curriculum from places like Learning is Fun.  That is a great store!  The reason I got the whole set from LambCo is because I didn't know for sure what I would need.  I thought it would be easier to have something already put together.  I actually got a comprehensive kindergarten curriculum book from Sam's Club that is pretty good too (and much cheaper).  I think it takes some trial and error to see what works for you and what style of learning works best for your child.  I've been unofficially teaching my daughter since February off and on, so I've experimented a bit with different things.
LambCo's website is http://www.lambco.com if you want to check them out.  I'd love to chat more.  If you'd like to email, my address is MrsEl@cableone.net
