Hello. My name is Cindy and we are new to homeschooling. We will be homeschooling our son, Greg-10 yrs old. Can anyone recommend curriculum or the best place to get curriculum inexpensively? I would also like to keep him involved with hands-on activities, especially science. If anyone has any ideas please let me know.
Hi Cindy, You might also try the following for science kits: Learning is Fun (on Menaul), Natural History Museum store, Explora store. My personal favorites for math/science curriculum are Singapore math and science (the national curriculum used in Singapore, which ranks 1 or 2 worldwide in science/math on standardized tests). Best of luck to you!
We use these as a jump off point and then go to the library to find out and learn more. Janice Van Cleave's books are great unit studies all by themselves. The library also has tons of books with easy experiments to follow. hth Jacque ps Actually the internet and the library are the cheapest source of homeschooling materials and curriculum but Tidal Wave Books has lots of used stuff.
