My name is Amy and I am very new to homeschooling.  I have an almost 6 yo dd and a 15 mo ds.  I also have one son that lived for 5 days and is deeply and greatly missed.  He would be 2 and a half.  He died as a result of congenital heart defects.  I always like to talk about him so just ask if you are curious to know our story.

I've been in Abq. for almost 7 years and I live on the East side.  I chose homeschooling because I enjoy being around my children and I don't like all the negative socialization that kids in school receive.  I can also tailor the teaching to my child rather than rely on a "one size fits all" type of curriculum that is taught in the school system.

This group attracted me because of its openness and the niceness of Elizabeth, who was the very first member I met.  Thanks Elizabeth!

Welcome, Amy!  I am so sorry to hear of your loss, I can't even imagine what that would be like to go through.  I hope to meet you soon.
