We really enjoyed meeting you at the park day last week! But none of us thought to get your phone numbers or email addresses. Since you attended one "event" you are eligible to join the group if you so chose. But if you'd like to attend another event first to get to know us a little better (and so that we can answer any questions you might have about the group), just email me and I can tell you about what else is coming up.
I really enjoyed meeting everyone at park day and also and my children had a blast. I look forward to attending the next park day. I'd like to join the group. I'm so pressed for time at the moment so I'll talk to you about joining on Thursday.
Renee and Dawn, it was a pleasure to meet you! Please note that we're having an optional craft during this week's park day. I'll post the information below:
How 'bout a Park Craft?
The June 8th Park Day will feature an optional crafting opportunity.
The holiday theme of Father's Day and/or Grandfather's Day is central . . . or any special man in your kids' lives may be honored by this craft.
There is quite a bit of flexibility in this idea -
you may . . .
1. opt out completely and just focus on enjoyin' the summery-park ambience,
2. bring a "greeting poster" you make at home (discussed below),
3. bring supplies to make your own "greeting poster" at the park,
4. and/or have digital pictures taken of you and/or your kiddos to make into gifts for their special someone in observance of Father's Day. I will bring my digital camera and offer my photography skills to parents who would like pictures taken (done with your permission only and with your guidance - you will pose your own kids). I will upload the pictures to our MEMBERS ONLY Photo Album where you can download them for gift-giving purposes. Here are some awesome ideas: http://www.photo-opps.com/crafts-using-pictures.html
A: It's Carissa's funky-way of descriping a poster with a greeting on it - words such as "We Love you, Grandpa!", "Thanks for all you do!", "You're a real ham, dad!", etc., etc. and it may feature drawings, scribbles, ANYTHING!
The cost? NADA, ZERO. Except . . . please note that you need to bring your own supplies if you plan to make your poster at the park.
If you have concerns/questions, please respond and help make this an even better idea. If anyone wants to add to this craft idea (or add an additional craft to the park day), just respond and we'll keep updating this thread 'til it's just right. Yay! (Or, if you want to volunteer to bring poster-making supplies, etc.)
If this is a big hit, or if some of you were out-of-town/unable-to-come-this-time, we could do this all again the next park day . . .there'll (<--not a real word is it?) still be time before Father's Day to squeeze this gift-making/craft-making in.
I filled out the membership form, so I hope to hear from you soon. We will see you all at the park tomorrow.
By the way, I love to teach--especially science, arts & crafts, math, lang/lit etc. (Basically everything but history or languages.) I would be interested teaching a class this summer if there is a need.
