Low attendance at classes ... why? (currently 861 views) |

Our last class at my house was kind of depressing. Only Kristin and I and our kids were there. Over the past month, we've also dwindled down to only about 3 of us giving the classes, which is really too much of a burden for just us. So... we thought it might be best to stop doing classes for a while and concentrate on outings -- you know, park days, museums, tours, the schooltime series, etc.
Does anyone have any thoughts on this? Do you think it would be better to call ourselves a support group rather than a co-op, and not ask people to volunteer? Is that what's keeping attendance down at classes, because people don't want to make that kind of a commitment to a group that they are new to? Or are classes simply not something that most people want?
I'm very curious to see what take the rest of you have on this. I personally like the classes, both giving them and going to them. But I also like other activities, so I'm open to anything. |

| I would guess that science club being at the same time nearly would be a factor. We plan on going to science club which is on Mondays from 10:30-12:30. |

| Speaking only for my family, Mondays and Wednesdays are particularly busy for us. As far as classes are concerned, maybe if they were more play orientated. My daughter and I do alot of learning, so she is really missing interacting with other kids more than class time. I found this book on kid's yoga that I want to buy, maybe a meeting time could be scheduled for something like that. We are definetly looking forward to the Popejoy outings. |
