I've had a couple of people ask me what to expect from the Krispy Kreme tour, can very young kids go, etc. I've been to the tour a couple of times, so I'll tell you what I know. First, Krispy Kreme loves to give tours. One of the tours I was on was just because my playgroup happened to be at the doughnut shop during a slow time and the manager came out and asked if the kids wanted a tour!

They have two tours, as I understand it: a little kids tour, and a big kids tour. The little kids basically just get to put on a KK hat, look at the doughnuts being made by the automatic machinery behind a glass window (really cool, in my opinion!), and then go behind the scenes to dunk and dip their doughnuts (in chocolate and sprinkles). This is probably the tour we'll have. For older kids, they take them behind the scenes to see the machines and actually explain many of the steps in the doughnut-making process.

I think it's so fun to watch the doughnuts being made that it's worth the trip even without a tour! But the hat and doughnut dipping make the tour special.

By the way, if you're reading this, how about planning a tour for us, too? It's pretty simple to call up a place and ask for a tour. I'm told that Whole Foods Market gives a wonderful tour with lots and lots of samples and take-home goodies.

No signups. Krispy Kreme is pretty relaxed about how many people show up. See you there.

Hi, this is Lisa Silva, I only recently found this site by way of the New Mexico Kids Magazine. I have 6 children, the oldest married and serving a tour in Africa. The youngest, and the reason I joined this group will be 3 next month. I have the title of Fieldtrip Coordinator for the group I have been part of in Los Lunas for 8 /9 years now. I took the liberty of setting up a trip to Krispy Kream on Feb. 19th at 10:00am. I just need need those going to either e-mail me at Fullhousewithsix@aol.com or to call me at 286-7990. I always ask this so that if there is a problem I can reach all those signed up. Althought this will not be exclusively for this group, they will all be homeschoolers. I look forward to meeting those from this group, and for Kailey to meet those children of yours as well.
