A woman who saw my name in the New Mexico Kids magazine in connection with our homeschool co-op called to ask if I knew of any plans for a curriculum sale/swap. Apparently several years ago she attended one but couldn't recall the name of the group that sponsored it. It was held in a large function room at a church, & people brought used curricula and other ed. materials to sell or exchange -- sort of a homeschool garage sale!
Anyway, if you've heard of anything like that going on, could you let me know? Or if no one's doing it, does it seem like something we should do? A couple of us were already discussing that we'd just like to get together with other homeschoolers to share feedback on various learning materials. At the last craft group we were discussing pro's and cons of various math programs.
Let me know what you think. |

The sale I think she is referring to is one that is put on annually, after convention. Last year the Tijeras Foundation/ERC hosted the sale but I don't think that they are the sponser. If I remember right, the sale is held in the summer June or July. The ERC probably has the details for this years sale (The ERC is a great resource for checking out various curriculum). ERC is located at: Grace Baptist Chapel 12201 Comanche NE Albuquerque, NM 87111 The Center staff can be reached: Phone 505-292-3156 hth Jacque |

Tabbi The ERC is Education Resource Center and it is a part of the Tijeras Foundation - same building same place but I think it is just different funding. The ERC (at Grace Baptist) is like a lending library of sorts. For a nominal fee (sorry I don't remember how much). you can check-out various books, curriculum and resources for preview. If you don't want to actually take these home, you can look at them, there at the ERC. They also have avaliable tapes from past convention seminars for check out. Here is their site: http://www.tijeras.org/
As far as the summer curriculum sale -- yes anybody can buy or sell at that. Space to sell must be bought but unfoutunatly I don't remember who the contact is for that -- possibly H2O (Hoffmantown Baptist Church Homeschool group) but I can't be certain. If you call Tijeras foundation they might know. hth Jacque
