Elizabeth,

Are we allowed to set up playdates and/or other actvities for those who are not members of the co-op, families that did not meet the membership requirements or were not allowed into the group for whatever reason? Obviously it wouldn't be as "safe" because we don't have access to the private board. However, I don't think we've ever had a problem doing things this way, and I would stretch to assume that I am not the only person who enjoyed the group activities prior to the membership being put in place. I'd like to see those who aren't members still be able to have play dates and/or other activities. Is that something we can post here?

Are any non-members still interested in having regular park or play dates?

Thanks

Sarah

On the same note:

Park Day & Teen Gathering -

Homeschoolers are welcome to join us for Homeschool Park Day, meeting weekly starting in September. Please contact Barbara for dates/times/locations. The Teen Group will meet during this time, also. The park location has picnic tables, and a newer style playground, as well as basketball courts and a field area.

We'll occasionally have discussion topics and structured events/activities
for the kids & teens. TBA

[weather permitting & with the exception of holidays]

Sincerely,
Barb - CeltWsdm4@aol.com

Hi Sarah, I created this message board for everyone in the homeschooling community. Using the board to contact other homeschoolers for playdates is exactly what it's intended for. Unfortunately, due to liability & child safety issues, I don't feel comfortable with specific dates/times/locations of your meetings posted here on this public board. Instead, I would ask that you post a general description of the activity and then ask those interested to contact you by email or phone. Thanks for asking.

Barbara, I have edited your post, because it did include specific time/date/location information.

I apologize to you both that I didn't make this rule clear. I actually had it as a sentence at the top of the boards, but it somehow got removed. I just put it back.

Barbara, I appreciate you posting this information.  I hope that you will continue to do so.  I will email you directly to ask for more details.  This co-op is perfect for my three year old, and it also has good opportunities for my pre-teen.  However, it would be nice to have more chances for my pre-teen to meet other homeschoolers her age.  So, I'd be interested in hitting some of your events from time to time.

Thanks,
Kari
