We are moving soon, looking into Paradise Hills area..... any suggestions for Dentists ( pediatric, with all the bells and whistles), pediatricians that are homeschool and anit- vaccination friendly( my twins have had reactions as infants so we have delayed vaccinations), anything else I should know that will make our transition easier? Classes , groups, etc. We have 4 kids 16, 9 and 4 year old twins.

What do I need to do register? Etc....

Thanks for any help

Hi there. Welcome to NM! Where are you moving from?

If you're looking for recommendations for dentists, doctors, etc. you might check out the abqmoms.com forum, there's a Recommendations board there. Do most dr make a big deal of vaccinations? I don't vaccinate and my doctor only occasionally makes noises about it, which are easily ignored.

Most support groups here in NM are small and aren't easily found, but once you're here I'm sure you'll have no problems hooking up with other homeschooling families. Our co-op maintains a (very incomplete) list of area groups at http://www.abqhomeschool.com/suppgrps.html that may help you.

For information on homeschooling laws and registration, see http://www.nmalted.org/home_schools/index.html. In general, homeschooling in New Mexico is very easy and has few requirements.

Our pediatrician gave us a lot of grief, so we started seeing Mary Alice Cooper MD.  She is a homeopath and family practitioner.  I'm really not sure about any pediatricians, because we started seeing her many years ago, and haven't been back to any.  Just For Kids Dental clinic is on the west side.

Ohhh, I like that idea of an MD Homeopath, I will keep her in mind as well.

Thanks Ang

Elizabeth,
We are moving from TN, Where do I get the form for intent? How soon do I need to do that? Or can I finish out the year under our Umbrella school? They keep our records and it woul dbe easier just to finish through them.

Thanks again
we are looking forward to getting settled
