I use Calvert with both of my children. I LOVE IT! I have a first grader and a third grader. What I like about it: Everything. It is structured and easy to follow. Plus it is all inclusive so EVERYTHING comes with it. There are tons of other things I LIKE about it and could go on but the best thing would probably be for you to see it first hand. I am not sure where you live but I live on the SW side of town if you would like you are more than welcome to come over and look at the first grade curriculum hands on and see what it looks like and what is included and we can discuss it in detail.
