Has anyone used Switched on Schoolhouse for language arts/creative writing? If so, how is the ease of use? I'm looking for something that is more or less guided, but flexible for mid-school age and 2nd grade level too. I would appreciate any advice or recommendations you may have. Thanks!

I've never used either - however, try http://www.homeschoolreviews.com I think it's reviewed there.
