A friend and I have kids that love to draw and write the stories, etc. Does anyone know of a summer class that would cater to those interests?

The Harwood Art Center and Hobby Lobby are two places I have heard of having drawing classes for kids. Maybe Albuquerque Academy too?
I know of some other classes that are mixed media. If you like I can write those down as well. |

My suggestion isn't actually a class, but more of an one day thing: Mark Kistler's Draw Squad (I think that's what it's called) comes to town every summer. Costs quite a bit, but sounds like fun! I think I may have seen an ad for it in the latest NM Kids. We love his drawing books. I can't recommend them highly enough. Eric and I both have learned a ton from them. We have:

Mondays or Wednesdays

I just got a flyer from The Albuquerque Museum. They have a class called "Cover to Cover: Let's make a book" for ages 6-10 this summer. June 27-29 am or pm, $20. Their phone number is 243-7255. There are other classes on different subjects too.
My daughter goes to the Saturday Art Studio class at the museum and loves it (very reasonable too--6 classes for $39). |
