I've been looking at the calendar and it's looking a bit skimpy this month. Is anybody up to planning an outing or activity aside from the classroom stuff. My son hasn't stopped talking about how great the water play area was that Sarah invited us too. In fact, we're planning on going again next week.
Anyway, if you'd like to plan something -- park day, tour of Krispy Kreme (that's very easy to do, by the way, I did it last year, just call them), trip to museum or zoo -- let me know and I'll add it to the calendar.

Elizabeth, I plan on starting a basketball day. I'm just waiting to find out when my kids will have band practice, soccer practice, plus the other activities they do, so that I can choose a day/time. Would I be able to post this to the group?

Yeah, I don't see why not. As far as I'm concerned, the stuff on the calendar doesn't need to be exclusively for our co-op -- it could be stuff open to all homeschoolers. Do you have a basketball court? I know Julie S. was talking with an area church about using their gym -- apparently they open the gym to homeschoolers. Let me or Julie know if you're looking for a location.

I would love to know which church she had in mind! I was thinking of two different publice elem. schools that have really fabulous basketball courts, and good close parking. Also, that helps me out since the playground is very nearby and I have a 2.5 yr old that would be able to play there while the other kids play ball.

Why don't we also try for a play date a couple of times a month? It might be too much to committ to a play day every week, aside from a class every week; but maybe a couple of timse a month. It would allow us to get together more, get to know each other better, talk about more ideas for classes, and the kids can start building stronger friendships. ??? What do ya think?
