Shannon and Shelby have both mentioned the Off Center Community Arts Project, which offers free art making classes every Wednesday from 1 to 5 pm. It is open to children of all ages. The building is located at 117 7th St. 247-1172.
Do you think we should make this one of our October activities? If so, do you know whether this is a single 4-hour class, or can you just drop in, or what? I guess I could call them, but I just wondered if anyone has gone there already. |

Its not a class really, you just go in sometime between 1-5 and you are given markers, paints, clay, etc to work with. You are welcome to stay as long as you please. It's going to be a regular Wed outing for us.

I just attended this with my daughter this past wed. FYI They will be closed the following two wednesdays and will reopen wed. Oct. 29. It seems like a nice opportunity for the kids, I plan on going regularly.

Rebecca, we were originally planning a group outing there this past week, but canceled it because I'd heard they were not particularly welcoming to homeschooling families. What's your take on that?

Its funny cause they seemed very happy the first time we started going, she asked me several times where I'd heard of it. Then the next few weeks when I went, they just seemed irritated with us. They wanted us to get our own supplies while we were there, which is fine, but then seemed irritated when we went and got them lol.
