Hi folks!
With warm weather here I find that the boys and I are spending lots
of time at the park, but with few regular playmates. There's
currently no inclusive homeschooling playgroup meeting on the
westside, and I'd like to have one. I expect we'll still drive
across town to the GOAL meeting on Fridays, but our week needs more
social outlets than just Friday.
I was thinking of mid-day Wednesday at Haynes Park in Rio Rancho.
It's right across from Intel, with a great playground, indoor
restrooms, picnic tables, lots of shade and grass -- even a duck pond
and parking lot.
So, beginning April 7 (next week, since I do already have plans for
tomorrow) that's where we (Sylvia, Andy & Dan) will be sometime
around 11:30, likely staying around until at least dinner time.
Call me at 507-2308 if you'd like details or directions, or if
another day might work better for other folks, we can do that, too.
Just let me know!

| Hi Sylvia! Were you planning this to be a regular get-together -- weekly, monthly? The reason I ask is that it would be great to put it on the calendar to make sure nothing (tours, etc.) gets scheduled on top of it. |

| Hi Sylvia! Weren't we talking about getting together some time? This is terrible, but I hardly ever go to the west side. I moved into Alb from Edgewood just because I HATED to drive! I pretty much try to limit my driving to about 15 minutes total LOL. Are you going to come to any park days in the NE heights? Didn't you used to go to the one on Fridays where they had free lunch? |

Hey Sylvia,
We live inTaylor Ranch and have ben getting my 6 year old together for a few months wiht other homeschool girls about the same age. We usually meet on Mondays in the mornings.
I also have a 3 yera old and a 14 month old. we live within walking distance of Maripossa and Riverview parks. We school in the morning between 8-11am usually. give me a call! 323-9222

Actually, it looks like we'll be heading back to Tumbleweeds -- at least for the summer -- as they're meeting outdoors again.
So we'll be spending our Wednesday time at Los Ranchos park in the north valley.

Hi all!
Actually, I posted the last reply before reading all the replies to my first post. Sorry about that!
Elizabeth -- I was thinking about weekly meetings. I did this because I'd been told Tumbleweeds would be indoors (at Duranes Comm. Ctr) for another 2 months, and we won't go to that CC. However, since then, I found out that TW will be outdoors for the season, starting later this month. Andy has several friends with that group -- some of whom also skipped the winter indoors meetings -- and is eager to meet with them again.
If you'd like, I can confirm when TW will be meeting regularly outdoors (I'm not sure of the time, tho it's Weds) and you can add it to the calendar.
Tumbleweeds is an inclusive group of homeschoolers, meeting in the North Valley, making it close enough for this Westside family.

We're at Mariposa most days now that it's warm. Even on days when we go elsewhere mid-day, we usually hit Mariposa in the evening, often staying until dark. You may have already met/seen us -- we're the people with all the sand toys to share -- usually the boys ride their bikes. Andy is a big kid with black hair, constantly in motion; Dan is quite small for 3, with brown hair, very quiet -- almost somber-looking sometimes.
Not sure if we'll be there this Monday, what with all the rain we've had. Altho yesterday the boys insisted on getting to a park, so we went to Los Ranchos, where I can sit in the warm, dry car and watch them run in the wet grass and climb on the playset. They had a great time.
I'll call you sometime soon, or you can call me at 570-2308. I'd like to find more playmate for Dan. He's perfectly happy chasing after Andy, but also plays well with other 3yo's.
