I was disappointed with my step-daughter's girl scout troop last year and am hoping to get her into a new troop. I was thinking about this some and decided it would be better to get her into a troop with other homeschoolers if possible. I feel there would be more flexability in scheduling and the girls would have something in common.
I am first looking to see if there is any Junior troop currently set up for Homeschoolers. If there is I would love to get any information you may have.
If I am unable to locate such a group, I am considering starting one. If I get to this point and decide that this is something I can take on right now, I will be looking for Junior girl scouts (age 9-11), that live on or are willing to travel to the west side. Please let me know if this is something you might be interestred in, so I can get an idea of the interest out there.

Jessica, I too was looking for a scout troop with homeschoolers so I emailed the girl scout council. Ironically, someone just emailed me a few hours earlier today and told me that there is another woman in town homeschooling her dd that is the same age as mine that is looking for the same thing. I'm waiting for that woman to contact me. The contact person said that she and I can start our own troup. Since you are looking for older scouts (we are going to be at the Daisy level) I would suggest that you contact the same woman that I did. She is the Membership Development Director for the Chaparral Council. Her name is Safura Saeed. Her number is 343-1040 and her email is ssaeed@chaparralgirlscouts.org. |

| I actually called and left a message for her today, so hopefully I will hear back from her soon. Are you going to the Isotopes game/sleepover on the 6th? I am hoping that I can work it out that my step dd can go, even though her past troup is not. |

I'm looking for a girl scout troop for my 6 yr old. We never got a call back from the Girl Scout office last year to find her a troop. We had one set up for homeschoolers in AZ, but moved last year before the school year started. We live on the west side. If there is any chance she can join your troop, or if you have any further information, I would really apprecaite the help!

| Since we aren't officially in scouts, I don't think we can attend any of the activities. Sarah, I'll post as soon as I know some more definite information. |
