I am still hoping to set up a Junior Girl Scout Troup for Homeschoolers.  This would be a troup for Homeschool girls ages 9 -12.  I do not know exactly when we would start....really depends on the response I get.  However, it looks like we would most likely meet the 2nd and 4th Thursdays of the month in the morning for about an hour and a half to two hours.  I am going to look into a program that girl scouts have, that appears to resemble a PE program and do that as part of the girl scout meetings.  This way we can cover an area that many homeschoolers look for, while also giving the girls a chance to make lasting friendships with other homeschoolers.  If anyone out there feels they may even be the slighest bit interested, please let me know.  Post here or email me at Jessica_Selbee@yahoo.com

Also, I am hoping to advertise this with other homeschool groups.  Unfortunately, I am not aware of many others.  And those that I am aware of, I have no idea how I would get this info to them.  Anyone who can get me info for other groups that may be interested?  I would really appreciate it.

Thanks!

Jessica, you could post to the yahoo group http://groups.yahoo.com/group/NewMexicoHomeschooling/ . It seems to have many Albuquerque area members.

Jess

I copied everything down to send to my other groups, but noticed there was no mention of where this might take place. I'd like to atleast be able to say Albquerque or Rio Rancho. Do you know where yet?

Sorry, I thought I had put it in here.  I am looking to hold the meetings at the Chapparel Girl Scout Council office.  It is located just off I-25 and Osuna/San Mateo on Jefferson.  It is a very centralized location and it looks like we should be able to hold meetings there once I get everything together.  Thanks again for helping to spread the word.

Hi Jessica!

We would LOVE to do the GS troop! Hannah is 9 and spent a year in Brownies. I was the Cub Scout leader for my son all through those years and really enjoy being a leader if you want help. We have just moved here from Kansas and are hoping to attend the craft session at Katie's house on Monday.

That would be AWESOME Pamela.  I was just telling Lisa the other day that the only thing really stopping us from getting started was that I need to find an asst leader.  I will try to attend the craft group on Monday so we can meet up.
