SUBJECT: TTYL Youth Presentations
As part of a grant from the NM Department of Health, I work closely with four 6th grade classes at Roosevelt Middle School. Through the program, students learn about the natural history of various animals and their environments, as well as, caring and respect for self and others, ethics, and leadership. Now that the students have learned various sections of the curriculum, they are ready to start the Public Speaking part of the program. If you are interested, we would like to offer you and your students the chance to see our students present. Normally, a TTYL presentation costs $100.00, but this presentation is free. Presentations are generally very exciting, since live animals are brought in. Each overall presentation time is about 50 minutes long. Each animal in the presentation takes about 15 minutes. Animals that students can discuss include a variety of reptiles (snakes and lizards), bats, and raptors (hawks, falcons and owls), as well as pertinent environmental issues. If you are interested please call Grechen Bass at TTYL 281-1133, ext. 8#. I would meet you about 15 minutes before the presentation start time at the Roosevelt Middle School Main Office and take you to the presentation room. The available times for presentations are as follows:
Friday, March 11, 12:55 – 1:50 PM
Monday, March 14, 10:20 – 11:15 AM
Tuesday, March 15, 1:55 – 2:50 PM
Wednesday, March 16, 10:20 – 11:15 AM

Directions to Roosevelt Middle School: I-40 East (from Alb.) or West (from Edgewood/Moriarty), take Exit 175 to Tijeras/Cedar Crest. Go South on Hwy. 337. You will pass Talking Talons Youth Leadership Center and Canyon Crossroads Animal Clinic on the left side of the road and following will be a sign to turn right to enter Roosevelt Middle School and A. Montoya Elementary School.
