Scholastic's retail books are on sale for 50% off at their Albuquerque Warehouse on the following dates:

May 13-14, 20-21, 23-17
M-F 10am to 7pm
Sat 9am-3pm
4404 McLeod NE
878-0564

The full warehouse sale happens only a couple of times a year, May and Dec. Everything in the warehouse, with a few exceptions, is on sale for half the cover price. There's usually also an area set off with even deeper discounts, mostly hardback books and software. The prices aren't usually lower than the scholastic catalogs, where the prices are already about half of retail, but the selection at the warehouse is huge. I've gotten great deals on Klutz books for Christmas presents there. I always spend way more than I wanted to.

The first day is often very crowded, so come prepared for long lines at checkout. The year it was most crowded was when the first day of the sale was after school was out for the year. I don't think that's true this year.

You must be a teacher (including homeschool teacher), librarian, or school personnel to enter the warehouse. I'm told they require proof of homeschooling status.

They didn't check for proof when I went last year but I brought my teaching license just in case.
