Can someone remind me when the orchard has it's apples ready? I know the when the apples (especially the Champagnes) are ready they go fast and our family has missed this two years in a row so I'm trying to plan ahead this year. Is it late Aug or late Sept? thanks in advance Jacque |

Is there another Apple farm, petting zoo, type place around to take the kids? We just moved here and this was one of our favorite fall activities. I would love to find something, as it is probably about apple pickin time! |

The Co-op is actually doing a trip to one tommorrow. If you are interested in joining the co-op you might want to check with Audra at 797-8989 or Julie at ahomeschoolcoop@yahoo.com for the details.
If you are not interested in the co-op, I can post the details after the trip or you can check at http://abqhomeschool.com/tourlist.html for the lists of feildtrip locations for homeschoolers. I believe there are some listed there.
Hope this helps. |

Jess, we don't have quite that fast a turnaround time on getting prospective members to events, what with having to coordinate with the event organizers, so your suggestion probably wouldn't work out, but it's a nice thought. We also generally steer prospective members to a park day, since fieldtrips tend not to be as good a time for socializing.
The Hays Honey and Apple Farm offers tours, and I believe details can be found at the link Jess gave above. |

| I thought about that after I posted, but was away from my computer. That would make things difficult, people joining feildtrips at the last moment. Thanks Elizabeth for clarifying that. I will keep that in mind before posting in the future. I am bad about opening my mouth before thinking things out. |

Thanks for offering, you guys are so helpful! I wouldn't have been able to make it today anyway... but I appreciate the information and I need to go ahead and get signed up so we don't miss out on some of these fun events.
Thanks Again,

| I look forward to meeting you at an upcoming event. It seems there is always something going on with the co-op. |
