Just a little input from someone with experience in this area. I have no college education and made quite alot of money very early on. My boss at that time (age 31) was the first female International Sales and Marketing Director in an almost entirely male business. She made way over 6 figures per year at that time. Neither of us ever showed our high school diplomas. Normally, with certain types of jobs, they want your experience....not the piece of paper.
We both had passion and a natural talent for what we did. I think college is wonderful for the right person and certainly the right job for that person. For instance, if you are going to want to be a teacher and teach in public school...your going to have to attend college and become certified. What many jobs require is passion and experience in the field.
Just for fun, here is a great website. Scroll down to see all the famous people (yes, todays people too) who dropped out of high school. Sorscha and I had a great time looking at it. Make sure to scroll down, it's from A to Z.

Oh, and one of my favorites, Wes Beach, has a great article on Uncollegers. I did not know that term existed.
