My son sings with the Albuquerque Boy Choir and we are always looking for boys who like to sing. It is a tremendous musical education as well as a fun environment with wonderful caring and dedicated instructors. The Albuquerque Boy Choir is recognized as one of the top boy choirs in the nation. The choir, founded by Chester French, has been in existence for over 65 years. The choir provides boys ages 2 to 21 the opportunity to sing, experience top-rated music education, and an opportunity to serve their community. Boys enter ABC through audition. The choir is actually comprised of 4 separate choirs as well as a music introduction program for young boys. The choirs rehearse once a week on Tuesday evenings for 2 hours. Each boy is expected to practice on his own during the week. Monthly coaching sessions with the choir directors help each boy to perfect his sound. Boys perform throughout the year while monthly tuition is paid only 10 months a year. Know a boy who likes to sing? Please call Maria Nilsson-Whitaker (ph.#797-8980), ABC Recruitment Officer, and she will direct you to appropriate choir director and help you set up an audition. You can also e-mail her at marinard@aol.com . For more information on our choir check out our web site at http://www.abqboychoir.com . | This isn't of interest yet for my son, but I have a daughter who would love to be part of a choir - is there a girls' choir equivalent in town? If so, does anyone know how I would contact them, or any other information about the group? We would appreciate it! THANKS! |

| Yes, there is also an Albuquerque Girls Choir, but I don't know anything about it, and I think they might have a website. |

| I'm sorry about the slow response time for posting on the board lately. There seem to be a ton of web crawlers (those automatic things from the search engines) reading through all the messages on the board. I think they're slowing things down, but hopefully they'll go away and leave us alone soon. |

We have a daughter who just joined the Albuquerque Girl Choir. You can contact them through their director, Allen Webner, at 299-0643 ext. 109. There are three choirs for grades 1-12.
