West Side All Homeschoolers / All Inclusive Park Day
Every Wednesday, 1:30pm (weather permitting)
Corrales Park and Library

There are huge cottonwood trees and lots of shade all over the park. The 2 large play structures and swings are not shaded at that time of the day, but most children seem to gravitate over the grassy areas of the park and into the band/theater stage. There are also several benches spread around.

There is direct access to the library with clean restrooms and fresh water, too. And the park is fenced in, as well.

Corrales park is easy to access from Coors Rd, as well as I-25 and Alameda Rd.

84 West La Entrada
Corrales, NM 87048
http://www.corrales-nm.org

***From Coors, pass Cottonwood Mall, cross over 528 at the intersection (see Sunflower Market straight ahead, McDonalds to your right). You'll be on Corrales Rd on the other side of the intersection. Drive the speed limit through Corrales, pass the Feed store at Meadowlark lane and pass the Farmers/Growers Market signs on the left and keep your eye open for the wooden Corrales library sign on the left. Make a left onto West La Entrada. You'll see the park on your right. Turn right into the library parking lot.

***From I-25, take Alameda Rd West. After crossing the Rio Grande, turn right at the first intersection. You will be on Corrales Rd. Follow above directions.

In addition: For anyone with children under 5, Wednesday at 10am is pre-school storytime. At 2:30pm there is a Craft for 9 year olds and up in the library (pre-registration required)

We are planning to be there tomorrow.
We'll probably bring our guinea pigs
or a rabbit to visit with everyone, too

ps, Crystal, If "Wednesday *ARE* Corrales Park Day"
does that mean that "Monday *ARE* Unschooler Park Day"
tee hee

This Corrales Park Day is the "All Groups / All Inclusive" Park Day.

The Rio Rancho & Albuquerque UNschoolers are a "Group"...just like "Alb Coop" is a group and many of us attend this parkday also.

RR&A UNschoolers always meet on Mondays at Harnett Park / Los Ranchos Park off of Rio Grande from 1:00 till about 4:30.

Here is our info:

Rio Rancho and Albuquerque UNschoolers
Unschooling. Fostering local friendships with unschoolers, radical unschoolers, whole life learners, and life long learners. Serving Rio Rancho, Albuquerque, and surrounding areas. Contact Crystal at willowsfortress@cableone.net or visit http://groups.yahoo.com/group/RioRanchoAlbuquerqueUNschoolers/.

Sorscha and I are just die-hard parkers baby!!! heehee

I think I cleared the confusion at the park today, Crystal,
but just so others will know how silly I can be.
What I meant by my comment below:

ps, If "Wednesday *ARE* Corrales Park Day"
does that mean that "Monday *ARE* Unschooler Park Day"
tee hee"

was that the word Wednesday was not a plural and you used
the word ARE afterwards......so.....
just like this silly story of a teacher and her student:

"TEACHER: Ellen, give me a sentence starting with "I".
ELLEN: I is...
TEACHER: No, Ellen. Always say, "I am."
ELLEN: All right... "I am the ninth letter of the
alphabet."

So you could have used Wednesdays ARE.....or Wednesday IS....
but whatever. As a student of English/Journalism and a writer,
I always get a kick out of the English language...plus I have a
bit of a kooky silliness in me, too

Hey Crystal,

Speaking of the English Language, I noticed your
new quote from Ren. Did she really
say "Wordly" and not "Worldly".....?

I've never thought of fashion and Barbie as "Wordly'.....

Actually YES.  That word tossed me off and I wanted to badly to change it and put WORLDLY but, hey...that would be changing her quote...and I shant do that.

I did, however, look up the word WORDLY and it is a word and it does make sense.

Today was fun with the "ya'll and etc." talking.  It is so true that depending on where you are from and how you were raised that your speech can be quite interesting.  But hey, that's personality...I'll take that over a stuffy robot anyday!! heehee

CYA YA'll!!

Well, that quote is surely an attention getter
and makes one want to scratch their head. heehee

Ditto on today. It was fun......and a gorgeous day
for the park.
The guinea pigs and bunny have been conked out, since we
returned home.
They enjoyed all the attention and pets they received today.

We're looking forward to Fairy Hollow tomorrow. Is there anything
as wonderful as an afternoon spent besides the Rio Grande
creating unique homes for our fairy friends??
