Because I am recognizing that it isn't realistic for me to commit to making it to UNM, from the East Mountains, as early as I would have to be for the UNM classes, I asked Fred Cota, the guy that does the twice a week Homeschool P.E. classes if he would be willing to do a class just for preschoolers, at a location central to both the East Mountains and the Westside of ABQ. He said that if we could get 16-20 kids, all in the same age range, he could set that up.
There is a $5 per family registration fee. The classes can be twice a week at $7 per child, or we could opt to do it just once a week, at $5 per child. I do not yet know what day or days it would be. Each class is one hour in lent
He said they'd need to be a similar age, so I suspect they'd need to be four and five year olds, but I can clarify that with him if others are interested.
If you are interested, please post here to let me know.

Kari,
I'd be interested for Athena she'll be 4 years old this October. Probably in just 1x a week since we already have a pretty hectic calendar.
Afternoons would be best for us. Otherwise if its Mornings Monday is our only free morning.
Thanks, Audra |

| This sounds like an awesome idea! I am always desperate for ideas on how to keep my four-year-old ball of energy otherwise known as my son busy. |

Kim,
I'll get back to you on the three, when I hear back from Fred...I'm not sure if three, as opposed to nearly four, four and five is going to be too big of a spread for him. If he thinks he can plan for the development levels of the whole age range, it's fine by me, but in response to my request to preschoolers, he stated that they'd need to be in the same age range. So, I'll put you done as a strong maybe.

Hi. Not a problem. Is there any other type of PE/activity out there? I tried Gymboree, but they don't seem to have a lot of classes in this area yet. Kim |

You might look into programs at Fundamentals Gymnastics http://www.fundamentalsgym.com
Their prices are reasonable for what they do, and they are wonderful with children. They have a very solid understanding of the physical and cognitive development of children, and their equipment is all child size.

Kari,
We're interested if it's starts in the morning. Hettar naps in the afternoon. He'll be 5 in December.
Thanks, Mary Ann |
