I think this program is expensive but just want to let everybody know.

Fee: $135 for members  non-members: $155

Snack are included.

I just got the brochure for Explora and this is one of their programs.

The program is for 2-5 yrs. old and their adult companion.  Offered every Wednesdays, Thursdays or Saturdays.  Each session meets twice a month, every other week.

Activities-9:30-10:30a.m.
Snack and Exhibit floor time 10:30-11:00am

Growing a Scientist is an opportunity for hands-on activities for children ages 2 through 5 and their adult companions.  In these classes toddlers will learn about science by questioning, experiencing, and investigating.

Thanks,
Mary Ann

We did this a year or so ago (when they were in their old location). I found the classes very well prepared, though it was pricey. If you don't have a membership, I think the class includes admission to Explora, so that might help make it worth the $.

Since it is $20 extra for non-members, it would be worth getting a membership if you are going to participate in this program.  The membership is not much more and will easily pay for itself after only a few visits depending on the size of your family.  We have the extended family membership.  My husband and I can take the kids and 2 grandparents...or great-grandparents.  We have not used it as much as I'd like, but it has already paid for itself.  Rumor has it that the price for membership will be going up soon.  Since they opened the new facility they had a major increase in membership and people are using their passes more than expected.  I guess they are concerned with the money they are losing through the memberships vs. people paying per visit.  So, you may want to act quickly if you plan on getting a membership.
