Passport Learning® Academy of Reading Program Now Available in New Home Version
Greenville, South Carolina - Passport Learning®'s Academy of Reading® Program is now available in the New Home Version. This program provides detailed assessment, accurate placement, individualized instruction, accelerated skill progression, and constant motivation with immediate results in a comprehensive, research-based program. The award-winning program provides immediate feedback and reward certificates to encourage children and parents from the very beginning, and is a complete package that meets all requirements of the No Child Left Behind Act.
Home version software is available for computers running Windows XP or Windows 98 (SE), for use in the home or on the go. Passport Learning's Academy of Reading program is also available at more than seventy-five Passport Learning Centers around the United States and via the Internet.
According to Rich Kohler, Program Director, "Passport Learning's Academy of Reading program provides an individualized approach to reading that will benefit all students. It provides catch-up for remedial students, helps average students to excel, and allows gifted students to leap beyond previous performance." Passport Learning's unique methods and consistent success are based on fifteen years of testing and intensive educational research.
Passport Learning's programs can help learners at all levels develop new skills, not just knowledge of facts. Once these skills are developed, they are for life. Progress made is long lasting and probably permanent, according to Passport's research. The unique, personally supervised, one-on-one computer-generated program has been proven to be far superior to other tutorials. Passport Learning supplements the conventional educational process and also offers a completely different methodology to identify and tackle problem areas.
The Academy of Reading program improves most children's reading levels by 2.5 grade levels in the first 25 hours of use as it focuses on developing the child's phonemic awareness, phonics skills, and comprehension. It also enables students to increase reading skills, read faster, read with better understanding and gain confidence in reading.
The mother of an eighth-grade girl said, "We spent over $12,000 and were told that she still needs more instruction. But since Meagan began Passport Learning one month ago, we have seen a major difference. She received a 98% on her last English test and has improved her math scores an average of fifteen percentage points (math programs are available only at Passport Learning centers at this time). She just loves Passport Learning!" [permission to use names is on file]
Passport Learning's Academy of Reading program placed first in all categories in a recent eSchool News survey of educators. It surpassed every other reading intervention program in phonics and phonemic awareness, vocabulary, reading comprehension, fluency, and English as a Second Language (ESL).
Nearly 700 homeschoolers have purchased the home version of Passport Learning's Academy of Reading software since May, 2002. Many parents continue to purchase the educational programs for additional users in their homes.
Passport Learning's methodology identifies and targets specific, individual student weaknesses through an initial assessment. Specific training modules for each child target and respond to specific problem areas, and student responses are graphed and evaluated to measure progress accurately.
Motivational components recognize student achievement at all levels. Often, first or second sessions result in noticeable improvements which greatly encourage students who have had a history of struggling in school.
