Additional events to know about:

April 29th (Saturday) from 1 to 5 p.m. at the National Hispanic Cultural Center of NM ,. . .Dia Del Ninos  (Children's Day)  FREE ADMISSION!!!!!!!!!!    A partnership with New Mexico Children, Youth & Families Department This 3rd annual family day is filled with hands-on art, live music, games, storytelling and prizes. Let the kids loose at the book walk, bubble station or any of the other fun activities and check out the informational booths for parents. For additional information contact Elsa Menendez at 246-2261 x 112. at 246-2261 x 1  http://www.nhccnm.org/

AVAILABLE ANYTIME, by appointment, are free nutrition consultations by Craig Klein, M.S., C.N.S. at the Albuquerque Vitamin Cottage.  Craig is a nutritionist specializing in diet-related conditions, wellness promotions, and disease prevention.  He offers advice and instruction on special diets, review of supplement programs for balance and adequacy, referrals to holistic practitioners in the community, and educational advice and materials on various nutrition topics.  To set up your appointment, call Vitamin Cottage at 292-7300 and ask for Craig or leave a message for him with one of their associates.  This is a superior community service they do for Albuquerque.  http://www.vitamincottage.com

AVAILABLE ANYTIME, by appointment, are very inexpensive studio portraits by JCPenneys.  I visited their website and printed off coupons for $3.99.  No sitting fee for the first person, no hidden BS.  I think this is an appropriate event because we so frequently forget to be family historians and it's important to capture as many portraits as possible of our families/kids.  If you know of other inexpensive studios with high quality and seasonal themes, please let me know.    Just offering a tip, not advertising for them necessarily.

Choose an easy one-mile family outing (10 a.m.), a moderate one-mile bird observation trip (9 a.m.) and a more challenging, three-mile inclined hike (10 a.m.). Pack a lunch and hit the trail! Reserve your spot at 281-5259 or SMNHC@qwest.net.
