COSMIC CARNIVAL 2007    “Science Under the BigTop”
a Free Family Science Festival on National Astronomy Day

The Activities/Education Committee for COSMIC CARNIVAL 2007  invites your organization to be an exhibitor at the first annual COSMIC CARNIVAL to be held on April 21, 2007 in Tiguez Park, Old Town Albuquerque.

At this time, we ask only if your organization is planning to be an exhibitor for this event.  Please reply to this email BY March 19th and tell us…
____yes, we plan to exhibit at COSMIC CARNIVAL  2007  (if yes, you will receive additional information in a second email)
____no, we cannot exhibit this year but would be interested in future years so keep us on the mailing list
____no, we are not able to exhibit at this type of public event

We will only be able to accommodate about 25 exhibitors, so please don’t delay…reply to this email if you are planning to exhibit.  Additional details are below.

MORE DETAILS ABOUT COSMIC CARNIVAL 2007:

What is it?   A celebration of all of the sciences that will become an annual event.

Who will be involved?  Science and science education organizations from throughout New Mexico offering fun information, demos, and materials to the general public.  In future years, additonal venues, lectures, exhibits, etc will be added.

Why am I getting this email?   We invite you to participate, to showcase your organization, and to help educate the public about science in New Mexico.  We ask that each exhibitor bring a “hands-on” element that will interest the attendees.

Who will attend?  This year the first COSMIC CARNIVAL will be held in association with the Fiesta de Albuquerque (Founders Day) weekend.  The Fiesta is visited by approximately 2000 people each year.  COSMIC CARNIVAL will be a discrete part of the Fiesta and will benefit from Fiesta advertising and infrastructure.  Depending on the 2007 event, future COSMIC CARNIVALS may or may not coincide with the Fiesta.

COSMIC CARNIVAL has the support of the City of Albuquerque and the Museums on Mountain Road.

Date: April 21, 2007
Time:  Noon to 5pm
Place:  Tiguex Park, Old Town Albuquerque

We will supply:  1 or 2 tables (as you request), 2 chairs, space in a tent, and limited electrical power if needed.

You will supply:  Representative(s) from your organization, sturdy display(s) that will be usable and visible outdoors, materials (freebees) to giveaway.  (Note: you MUST have someone at your table the full time of the event).
