Come join us for our weekly All Homeschoolers park day!  We meet every Thursday at 1pm at Loma Del Norte Park, near San Antonio/Wyoming NE.  All homeschoolers, whether a member of the co-op or not, are invited to join us.

Here is a map: http://www.mapquest.com/maps/m.....try=US&geodiff=1

On the map, you'll see the park just north of the intersection of Wyoming & San Antonio. If coming by the interstate, I'd take I-25 to San Antonio, then San Antonio east to Wyoming. Take Wyoming north to Loma del Norte Street (there's no light; if you get to the light at San Francisco, you've gone 1 block past the turn). Turn west on Loma del Norte and the park will be on your right in about a block.

This is a really nice park. Good shade, lots of grass, paths for biking, a little used basketball & tennis court for trikes or ride-on toys, two different playground areas for big & little kids, two banks of swings for b/l kids. Bring bikes, trikes, sand toys, etc. Hope to see you there!

No bathrooms, though, but good bushes!

Dannie, I fixed the scrolling news link for ya. One question: do you know where the old "All Homeschooler's Park Day" thread went to? Did you move it? Because now there are a ton of links on our web site that used to point to it that are now broken.

Shoot, Elizabeth!  I'm so sorry.

I should have asked you first but it didn't even occur to me that it was linked to other things and I removed it to reduce possible confusion.  The only reason I removed it is because I noticed that that thread was getting a lot of views last night and I didn't want anyone to show up at the Tuesday park to find it empty.

Is there anything I can do to help fix it?

If its gone entirely, I don't think there's a way to fix it, but I'll try to get around to changing the links on the web site soon. It's not a big problem, so don't sweat it!

Hello All.
I have a 13yr and a 15yr . I was wondering if any teenagers go the park on thursday. This is our second yr homeschooling and I would like them to meet some new kids. I am also looking for any co-op classes that are going on for teens.

Hi Anna,

I have a 12 1/2 yo daughter who graciously accompanies her little brothers to the park.   We were planning on attending tomorrow.  Also, I will be organizing another bowling get together for teens sometime in September.  Another mom and I have been trying to organize activities and meet-ups for the older set but it's been difficult to get any sustained interest.  Hopefully that will change in the fall.  If you want to get together let me know.

I am interested in any activities weekend or weekday. I have a 10yr old son and would love activities for him. Also what about field trips and sports?

Hi! New here, and interested in learning more about homeschooling groups in Albuquerque. Is this Thursday park day still going strong? I have a son, Shane, who just turned 3 in October, and is really ready for some regular activities. We visited a preschool this morning, and pretty much knew immediately that it wasn't going to work for him. So, exploring other options....TIA for information. If I don't hear anything, I think we'll just show up at the park tomorrow and see what happens!

Tachias- We're still meeting at the park every week at 1pm unless the weather is unbearable.  I hope you'll join us!

Hello, I am very new to the homeschooling community. Are there activities for children with special needs? I have three children, one who has high functioning autism, one daughter and a young son. Of course, they all have their individual needs. Are there children with special needs that attend the park day? Are their friendly little girls my daughter's age (6)? Is there a park on the west side. We live too far from Rio Rancho. Is there any other event that is more at a midtown location or around coors and I-40? What about activities for kids for other types of socialization? And are there some ways that kids my kids' ages can take classes together, regular classes where they can form friendships?  I am new to this and a little worried, but I do know that homeschooling is the right choice for us.

Thank you.

Where can I get information on regularly scheduled activities that are current and ongoing? Also, what places offer education to homeschooling? Does the zoo have classes? Are there schools that have classes for kids? Do your children participate in sports? Dance? Art? Please let me know how to get it all started. Thanks again.

Hi freckles.  The Rio Grande Homeschoolers used to have a park day @98th St. and Central behind Mc Donalds'.  Just South of I-40.  It may resume sometime again.  How old are your children?  Visit http://www.facebook.com/groups/107319292642123/.  It does not show up on search.  But the Rio Rancho library website has a link to it.
