OK, here's the final information about the performance, which I think I've emailed to everyone who's bought tickets. I'm just posting it here in case anyone needs to refer to it. (And I guess I'll be using this same info again for the next performance.)
====================
Hi everyone,
I wanted to get in touch with each of you to let you know some stuff about the upcoming Mathemagic show, to which you all have tickets.
First: I won't be coming to the show. Due to a prior commitment, I've had to pass on the responsibility to my husband, who will be bringing my son, Eric, as well as the ticket that lets us all into the show.
Second, we are required to go into the show all together, so we need to meet first before going into Popejoy. I would like to suggest the statue in front of Popejoy (some kind of spanish dancers?). You will be able to recognize my husband and blond 4yo son by their matching gray T-Shirts. Everyone will then proceed in together, show the entry ticket, and be seated. They say that AFTER you are assigned to your seat is the time to use restrooms, etc.
Can you all be at the statue at 9:45? I'm sorry to suggest such an early time, but that way you can all be seated with plenty of time for drinks, bathroom, etc. If you can't make it, PLEASE let me know so the group doesn't have to wait. I don't think there is any way for you to get in without the group ticket, and there are no refunds, so it's very important not to be late.
Third, I have parking/shuttle information. The brochure says that parking will be next to impossible (I don't know if that's true or not) but they suggest aparking in a lot away from Popejoy and then taking a shuttle bus in. You would need to plan time for that so that you can still meet us by 9:45. Here are directions to the shuttle bus parking lot: South Lot is south of UNM at Buena Vista & Avenuda de Cesar Chavez (SW corner). Board the Red&White UNM Shuttle Bus at the bus shelter, riding to its only stop, Yale/Redondo Dr. As you get off the bus, turn right and walk on the sidewalk along Redondo towards Popejoy. Turn left onto the pedestrian walkway that runs in front of Popejoy Hall. You'll see the statue where we'll be meeting at there.
Fourth, I have been sent several "Study Guides" to help prepare the kids for the performance so they can get the most out of it. Kristin, I'll probably be seeing you beforehand, so remind me to give you one. Michelle, maybe we can meet up this week, so I can give you both the study guide and your Scholastic book order? And Pam and Genny, you could either stop by my house to pick up the study guides or maybe I could fax them to you? Let me know -- 797-9441. They might also be available for download in PDF format at
http://www.schooltimeseries.com .
Finally, a few rules to pass on: No drinks, backpacks, food, or gum is allowed inside the theater. Turn off cell phones/beepers. After the performance, stay in your seats until your group has been released. (We are called "Albuquerque Homeschool Co-op".)
OK, I think that's it. Please let me know if you have any more questions. And can you please reply to this message to let me know you received it? Otherwise, I'll have to keep emailing you until I know for sure whether you plan to be there.
