There will be a Ditch and Water Safety presentation at the Jeanne Bellamah community Center on April 29th at 1pm.  Below this message is the note I received from them with more information.  Please rsvp by April 15th if you are interested because they will give stuff to the kids.  My email is susanrich871232000@yahoo.com

Susan

PS  This note is for anyone who is interested, so feel free to pass it along.

Ms. Brunson,

Hi, my name is Dezaree Vega. I work with Mark Churchill over at Griffin and associates. We are both involved in the Ditch and Water Safety program. I understand that you are interested in what we do so I'll go ahead and give you a brief description. Basically we do presentations at schools all over Albuquerque. The
presentations consist of a speech about ditch and water safety for about 10 minutes. Then we show a video of a real life ditch rescue and some useful information about ditch safety. Finally, at the end of the presentation one of the Open Space police officers shows the kids the hovercraft, which is a vehicle used in rescues. This part of the presentation is optional, but the kids do seem to like it.

Location: The little critters of nature... They don't know that they're ugly!
We would like to come!  Can you give directions to the park?  Thanks so much for setting this up.

I didn't think to post the address to the community center.  Sorry about that!  Here's the address.  Mapquest.com can give you step-by-step directions if you need them.

Jeanne Bellamah Community Center
11516 Summer Ave. NE
Albuquerque, 87112

This is north of Lomas, in between Juan Tabo and Eubank.  The easiest way I know of to get there is, from Lomas, go north on Tomasita (a stoplight intersection, so you won't miss it).  You'll go through a couple of stop signs and then see a large park on the right-hand side.  The community center is on the far right-hand (east) side of the park.

Hi Shelby!

No you don't have to RSVP with me; just with Susan.  I only posted because I know this goes to a huge group of homeschoolers!

PS -- I have no idea who "dara" is.  This happens to me often, when I log in.  Most often it shows me as "nicole," but really this IS Kelly, aka ABQMom!

Wow, Kelly! I didn't realize there was a problem with the board where you were showing up as someone else. Is it always as dara, or just as random people?
