I have a 3yr.old boy and 2 yr. old daughter. We moved here on March 26 and been looking for playgroups. My husband and I are interested in homeschooling our kids. I hope I have enough time to prepare before my kids starts school. I live in Rio Rancho near the Rainbow Park. I would like to meet other Moms and make new friends too.

If you don't mind the drive to the east side of town, I am in a playgroup that meets every Monday at 1:00 at different parks around town. In fact, I have been meaning to post on this board that anyone is welcome. It's not a homeschool group at all, just a group of moms with kids aged 4 and under. Alexis, Thanks for the reply. I feel deppressed couple of weeks after we move here. We have lots of friends in Arizona and whenever my kids wanted to play, we just call our neighbors accross the street with 3 yr. old triplets. I decided to join the Mom's Club of Rio Rancho South. At first, I was hesitant because most of their schedule doesn't work for my kids. I would like to socialize them with other kids and make new friends. My kids usually napping by 1 p.m. They are very active kids. I take them out to the park or activities in the morning and afternoon. By the time my husband and I take my son for a nap he still has lots of energy. I would like to go to your playgroup but the schedule would not work for my kids. Thank you so much for the invitation. We'll try to meet you when the time permits.
Mary Ann, I hope the MOMS Club you joined works out for you. I'm a member of a MOMS Club in NE Heights and it has been a great way for me to meet other moms of preschoolers, and for my kids to find playmates. Welcome to Albuquerque.
Yes, Elizabeth, we planned on homeschooling our kids for a long time. My husband used to be a High School teacher and he feels sorry for some of the students. He said most parents think it's the teacher's responsibility to keep an eye on their child. He had 2 girls (students) in he's class that got pregnant and he had a hard time thinking about the future of these kids.
I'm a little nervous about homeschooling. I came from the Philippines and I need to learn a lot from this country. Anyway, I enjoyed my first week being in the Mom's Club. I went to the Mom's night out last night and meet other Moms. I would like to get in touch with the homeschoolers too. I checked for the website of the Rio Rancho homeschoolers but it didn't work. I got their contact number and plan to call them. I would like to keep in touch with the homeschooler in this website and try to meet everybody. Thanks for the reply.
