I received a brochure from these guys in the mail. There classes look quite interesting. Here's the pitch:

"This mobile unit hits the road daily to bring hands-on science activities to children and life-long learners throughout New Mexico -- it's the field trip that comes to you! Book a visit to your club, childcare center, or summer camp today."

This sounds like something we might be able to do as a group, if anyone would like to organize it. They have many 90-minute classes for ages 5 and up, cost is $100 for up to 25 kids, so it could be pretty cheap! There's one class listed for ages 9 and up that's more expensive, $250. For a list of the classes and contact info, see

I feel like I have something to say about everything and I hope not to come across as a know-it-all, yet with 5 older kids between 12 and 20 we have done quite a bit and this is one thing we have done and it is great! My kids have built robots that really move and they really enjoyed the class as well. It would probably need to be a set age as described as it can get so intense that the parent is doing all the work, (yet they would have fun too!).

Put us on the list for when this happens.
