Well, I am official...I just notified the state that I am going to homeschool Emily. I just filled out the online notification form and they should confirm by email that they received it. This seemed WAY too easy. Am I missing something??
I've never done the online version, but that's all that's required. I usually just certified mail mine, but maybe next time I'll do the online one, so it won't cost me anything. Angelica
We just mailed our Notice too. I didn't do it electronically though because we used a form from HSLDA and mailed it certified mail, return reciept. That way we'll have a hard copy of something proving it was recieved. I'm sure the email confirmation you recieve will be fine, but just in case, you might want to print a copy of it for your records. That's what I would do anyway.
By they way, if you have not already looked into the Home School Legal Defense Association (HSLDA), I highly recommend them. You can find them at http://www.hslda.org
I did the online notification just now and know I put the school year for 2004-2005, but for some reason it said thanks for entering it for 2003-2004. We'll see what happens. I went ahead and emailed the person listed there for a copy of the verification to be mailed to me.
Hello all! I did the online notification last year and I did eventually receive a hard copy in the mail. I agree printing and keeping a copy is a good idea - I kept a copy until I received the "official" hard copy in the mail, and plan to keep these on file.
