We've had a couple of posts recently wondering what happened to the weekly newsletter and calendar. Some people are confused about why they can no longer find it. The mixup about this is my fault. I'm sorry! To clarify:
If you are now receiving the weekly co-op newsletter, you're a co-op member. If you're not, you're not currently a co-op member. Everyone reading this is a message board member, but only a subset of you are co-op members.
We recently changed the membership rules for the co-op, and everyone who wants to remain in the co-op must explicitly join it by following the (simple) steps in
http://www.ixacta.com/ahomeschoolcoop/join.html. This is also available as a link called "Join the Albuquerque homeschool co-op" right on the message board main page. Once you join, you'll see the newsletter and calendar.
The reason for the mixup is that the very first newsletter I sent out after we reorganized the co-op said something like, "If you're getting this newsletter, you're a co-op member." I accidentally sent this newsletter to all message board members instead of just co-op members. I apologize for the confusion this caused.
The co-op has many interesting activities planned for the next few months, including tours of Cold Stone Creamery, the Albuquerque Humane Association, and Sunflower Market, a fieldtrip to the Indian Pueblo Cultural Center, a woodworking project at Lowe's, an outing to Cliff's Amusement Park, a safety presentation from PNM, a monthly mom's night out, a monthly retirement home visit, and more. You can choose to participate a lot or a little.
If you're not a co-op member, I hope you'll consider becoming one soon.
