Hello, my name is Desiree.  I have 2 children, son, Galen, 3.5 yrs, and daughter, Brianna, 14mo.  I also babysit for two brothers on a regular basis, ages 3.5 yrs and 10 mo.  I am have been using a very ecletic curriculum for preschool, involving workbooks, computer games, formal and informal lessons and field trips.  I am planning on using The Well Trained Mind Curriculum for K+.  I am planning on homeschool my children, while the mother of the kids I watch is planning on sending them to public school in the east mountians.  Would the fact that I would have to bring the two kids I babysit prevent me from being invited to co-op activities?  Would I only be welcome at activities when I dont have them?  If I would be welcome with the other boys then I would be willing to host a monthly craft party at my home.  I am hoping that this will be a place that I will be welcome to participate with.   If so, can some one please point me in the right direction to find out when events are, since I can not find them listed any where.

Welcome to the board.

Even if you are unable to attend co-op activities, (I am not sure how that would work) there is a list of Homeschool Resources on the Home page here, which include support groups in the area and tours and feildtrips.  Also if you go to the parenting and more group there is an area for Things happening around town that is a wonderful source of community events and there are often things listed on this part of the boards which are open to everyone.

Hope this helps.
