Hi all,

I just got some information that I thought would be helpful to other small business owners. The District Attorney has a program for business that get any bad checks from customers. It's free to the business owner and free to the taxpayer because the bad check writer is the one to make all the restitution. There is a website you can go to http://www.checkprogram.com , then click on Partnerning Prosecutor, then NM, then the jurisdiction where you accepted the check in. Also, anyone can use the program, it's not just for businesses. If your child does babysitting and they get paid with a bad check, this program can be used. It's for any bad check. And there are no limits, so the bad check can be for $1.00. Oh! They also have a toll free number. It's 866.643.3145.

Nice to know with the coming holidays.
