My name is Lynn Swords.  Our family is currently homeschooling our two children here in Columbia, SC, and my husband is teaching history online to homeschoolers. He is very passionate about teaching history, and desires to begin offering his courses in other states. His courses are very inexpensive because he wants to give homeschooling families (who might not otherwise be able to) the opportunity to enjoy the many advantages of online courses. I am sending you the letter below in hopes that you might forward our information to members of your homeschool group in New Mexico. Hi,
My name is Mike Swords. My wife and I, members of HSLDA (Home School Legal Defense Association), SCHEA (South Carolina Home Educators Association), and Herald 5 (our local support group), are homeschooling our two children here in Columbia, SC.
I teach part-time for two local colleges and have previously taught in a public school.
I'm writing to you because I've created some inexpensive online courses for high school level home school students:  U.S. history, world history, and academic success (study skills, time management, etc.)  The history courses have been approved for credit by SCAIHS (South Carolina Association of Independent Home Schools).
Would you be willing to forward my information (below) to the members of your homeschool group in New Mexico? I will include the text in this e-mail so you can cut and paste it if you like. If you have a monthly newsletter that goes out, would you include the following information in it? If you have a website, I would appreciate having my information posted.
