I was going through my favorites this morning and realized that
these sites might be of interest to some of you.  There are sites on
teaching in general, teaching foreign language, money, cooking etc!
These websites are pretty interesting!  My DD's favorite is the cooking one listed last.

http://www.teachingideas.co.uk - a site in UK that has some neat
ideas including worksheets and games to teach foreign languages!

http://www.learn4good.com/kids/kindergarten_language_learning_books_a
udio_cds.htm - another UK site with some great links

http://www.bilingual-supplies.co.uk/ Yet another UK site to help
find products etc for foreign languages.

Teaching kids about money etc - very good link -
http://www.theallineed.com/family/05021305.htm

The best link I have to free stuff etc to teach Sign language to my
K/1st grader!  Worth looking at if you've ever considered teaching
ASL!

http://www.educationupdate.com/archives/2005/september/html/Feat-
SignLang.html - ideas for teaching ASL to hearing children

And last but certainly NOT least - a VERY cool site with kids
teaching other kids to cook!  My DD LOVES this site!!!
http://www.spatulatta.com/

OK sorry this has gotten long so I'll stop here.  I hope someone
finds some of these links helpful!

(Shari gave a great recommendation . . . passing it along)

For those of you who enjoy "spellingtime and bigmath time" as a means of allowing your child some constructive time on the computer, I'd like to offer up another choice. http://www.time4learning.com is a completely interactive full scale curriculum for grades K-8. They affer a 14 day free trial after which it's 19.95 a month.

I signed Noah up for it about 2 weeks ago and it's amazing they things that are covered! Last night he was plotting ordered pairs on a graph, then the program moved to using ordered pairs as coordinates on a map. He had lessons in social studies, science etc. He's covered such things as the 7 continents and the oceans that separate them, lessons on wants and needs, the national monuments and a whole section on spiders! The reading program is excellent, completely phonics based. I would encourage everyone to take a look as a supplement to what your already doing.

Noah loves it so much that i've had to implement an egg timer to limit his time on the program!!
