Chances are you have used a tree today. Did you have an apple for breakfast or read the morning paper? Are you sitting at a wooden desk? Are you breathing? Food, paper, wood, and oxygen are just a few of the things that trees provide.

Join us at the Rio Grande Botanic Garden to celebrate trees! On Friday, March 16, 2007, from 10am-2pm, the Rio Grande Botanic Garden will host a Tree Discovery Day as part of New Mexico Arbor Month.

This fun, educational event will include hands-on stations and displays by the Rio Grande Botanic Garden, Tree New Mexico, the forester for the City of Albuquerque, Keep New Mexico Beautiful, and PNM. Gather useful information about choosing, planting, and caring for trees. Try out the challenge of our tree scavenger hunt, and look back in time through a trees trunk. See if you can solve the recycling puzzle, and learn about how planting trees helps our environment.

The event is included with regular admission. Admission is $7.00 for adults, and $3.00 for seniors 65 and older and children 3-12. The Albuquerque Biological Park is a division of the City of Albuquerques Cultural Services Department.

For more information about this or other BioPark Education events, please call (505) 848-7180. For general inquiries, please call 311 (NM Voice/Relay or 711).
