So, I've been investigating community-based activities in Albuquerque lately.
I want to share what I've found . . .

1.  GIRL SCOUTS
     Ages 5-adulthood
For girl scouts aged 11-17, check into "Studio 2B"
     Yearly membership fee of $10.
     Each badge costs $1.
(But both often get covered by cookie sales)
     NM Girl Scout info:   http://www.girlscouts.org/councilfinder/results.asp?STATE=NM
     GIRLS join info:   http://www.girlscouts.org/join/girls.asp
     MOMS can join too!    http://www.girlscouts.org/join/adults.asp

2.  BOY SCOUTS
     Ages "1st Grade" - adulthood
     Yearly membership fee of $7.
Other costs vary depending upon projects undertaken.

3.   CAMP FIRE USA  (co-ed)
      Ages 5 - Adulthood
      Costs vary.

Please note:  Currently, the NM programming is limited to reading-help and "day care" programming.

4.   4-H  (co-ed)
      Ages 5 - 19
      FREE membership.  Pay-by-project ($2-$4/ea).

Cub Scout Pack 12 Membership Roundup

Cub Scout Pack 12 is having its annual membership roundup this Thursday evening at 6:30 at the Paradise Hills United Methodist Church.  This would be a great opportunity for you to learn more about Cub Scouts.  You are not obligated to join this pack if it's too far from your home but if you have questions or just want to see what its about, feel free to come.  Cub Scouts is intended for boys age 6 - 10.  PHUMC is located on Paradise between Golf Course and Eagle Ranch, just to the north of Paseo Del Norte.

I am a Wolf Den Leader (age 7 or 2nd Grade) in this pack.  You are welcome to contact me if you have questions.  If you cannot make the Roundup but are still interested, don't hesitate to contact me.  Here is the Pack 12 Website if you'd like some information beforehand:  http://www.pack12nm.com/

I don't know of any homeschool only groups, but we have our son in a great group that is in the Comanche Elementary area.
