National Atomic Museum- January Robotics & Summer 2008
Your students might be interested in camp programs for summer 2008. Our programs will be similar to those offered in this 2007 brochure.
An important note: In January, the National Atomic Museum will be offering Robotics Courses normally taught during summer camp. The courses will be approximately 2 hours long for a period of several consecutive weeks.
If you are interested in placing yourself on an 'interested-student' list for January robotics, please contact Jessica Coyle the Summer Camp Teacher at the National Atomic Museum. jlcoyle@sandia.gov phone: 245-2137 ext 120
The National Atomic Museum offers three types of programs: Self-guided tours, docent-guided tours, and outreach.
The education staff is able to arrange programs to meet the needs of students from K-12. We can also custom fit a program to the needs of your students.
As a 30 year veteran in the Science classrooms of APS, I am also willing to present workshops for teachers. I can provide background lessons in the topics exhibited here at the National Atomic Museum. The topics which come immediately to mind are: Atomic Structure, Radioactiity, Half-life, Nuclear power Vs. Fossil Fuels, Global Warming. I am able to present lectures to teachers with background information, and hints about how to make the concepts easier for students to grasp.
