The two biggest things my kids look forward to every summer are the splash park and Cliff's Amusement Park. Oh, and the state fair, but I guess that's in the fall.

We love to camp  and hike in the summer.  Ethan loves the Sprayground and hanging out inside museums where it's cool.  Oh, we also have a tradition of eating fruit, cheeses, bread and salami (with wine for mom and dad) while watching a movie on hot nights.

Where's the sprayground?  I'm a ABQ newbie and on the lookout for fun things and the sprayground sounds like it's our speed.  Also, my boys and I went to the rattlesnake museum and had the best time.  It's not big but what it lacks in size it makes up for in intimacy.  The guy running the place is pretty nice too.  We'll definitely be going back.

Here's a link to the sprayground: http://www.cabq.gov/seniors/centers/manzano-mesa-multigenerational-center/sprayground
It's near the Eubank costco, if you know where that is.  Close to Eubank and Central, for a vague idea of location, but there's a link to a map at the site above.

We also love the rattlesnake museum!  Not being big on snakes myself, I was surprised at how much I liked it, really.

I agree that the sprayground is really fun. Note that it isn't open until May 27th, though. And I think Carissa posted that another sprayground is due to open next summer. Yay!

Personally I won't set foot in the rattlesnake museum, but my hubby and kids loooove it!  For those of you who stay up late enough, Craig Ferguson says it is the best museum in the US.  The guy who owns the place recognizes AL and kiddos when they come in cuz they have been there so many times.

My kiddos love to run the hose and make ponds in the sandbox, yes, I know, not water economy friendly, but it sure cools them off.  We also take evening walks as the sun is setting, especially to DQ to get a treat!

We need to get into a habit of going somewhere to swim.

Our favorites are the sprayground, the free summer movies at four hills theater, the summer library events.

We love the manzano mesa spray park off of elizabeth street. It's 13 bucks to join the community center and then .50 cents per child each visit, and there is also a park there to play at as well. We are military so we are pretty lucky to also get to enjoy a really nice covered park here and the swimming pools. Also, the museums are great, and the little water spray area at ABQ up town. (haven't been there but have seen it).....going to the little play area at the cottonwood mall is a nice change...and we also went to see the winnie the pooh movie a few weeks ago, precious
