Hi all, We are in the process of moving back to NM from MT. We've been gone about a year and a half. We lived in RR before, and now we're going to be on the opposite side in Edgewood. When we left it didn't seem that as many poeple lived in the RR area, but now there seems to be quite a lot! Now I'm on the wrong side of town. (lol). Anyway I just wanted to re-introduce myself. My son is 11, and my daughters are 9 and 7. They are quite excited about the Pokemon League. We will have to learn how to play though because we are new to it. I'll most likely be trying to get to the East side park days. We used to attend the West side. I look forward to getting back into the swing of things there. It's much busier than here. It made for a very long winter. I hope to meet a lot of great people! Ang
This is Mary Ann (originally from the Philippines) of Rio Rancho. I remember when we talked about Wyoming & Montana. I was wondering where you actually moved when you left. I thought about you. Rio Rancho changed a lot since your family left. The new library is very nice & the indoor pool next to it will probably be ready by the end of this month. There is a newer community North of Northern Meadows. It is called Mariposa & the community will have their own indoor/outdoor pool plus fitness center. We hope to see you again sometime soon. Welcome back.
Hi Mary Ann. I've thought about you as well. I've heard about a lot of the new things in RR. I'm going to miss everything being so close. But I think we'll like Edgewood too. Hope all is well.
Angelica, Ruby says she would love to write to your daughter if she wants a penpal, so when you get settled in, PM or email me your snail mail address!
Looks like we'll be 'neighbors'. We moved from Rio Rancho last September, because it was getting too crowded for us and we wanted more land and some animals. We bought a house in an area of Tijeras called Sedillo, south of I-40. We're only about 8 miles west of Edgewood though. And we truly love it out here. There are so many fun things to do, see and visit that we rarely are in ABQ anymore. And our family is so much happier with all of this room to move around in without traffic, noise or pollution. I think you'll like it out here, too. Especially coming from Montana! hehe
You may want to get together after you settle in, if you think your kids might want to make some new friends out here.
My identical twin sons are 11 years old, too. And I also have a 5 year old daughter. Currently my sons are playing baseball in the Cedar Crest League and my daughter is playing T-Ball for the Pink Ponies in Moriarty (only 15 mins from Edgewood). One son plays guitar in Cedar Crest and the other plays trombone, which by the way, might interest you, because starting in August the Mid Rio Grande Homeschool Band will be adding an additional practice site at the Los Vecinos Community Center twice a week for all the homeschoolers in the East Mountains. The band and it's wonderful Director has been such a huge blessing for our family this year and is a very special resource for the entire Homeschool Community. Here's the website if you want to know more: http://nmhomeschoolband.com/
We also like to go hiking, camping, letterbox, ride horses, play chess and games, visit Wildlife West Nature Park, the Bio Park, Museums, play with our animals (llamas, goats, sheep, chickens, cats, guinea pigs, fish, a dog and a horse. Whew!), and we just love to be outdoors.
We would absolutely LOVE to get together. We should be pretty settled by mid June. Thank you for all the information about the MRGHB. When we looked into it about 3 years ago mine were not really sure if they wanted to join yet, but they are probably just the right age now. Talk to you soon.
