The private side of Montessori of the Rio Grande is closing (has closed) and Miss Marie the former directress is selling most of her classroom materials, furniture and playground equipment.  She will be hosting a yard sale at the school on Friday and Saturday.  I have seen the materials she is selling and her prices are very reasonable and her materials are top quality.  She has a lot of shelving and storage that would be useful in any classroom/homeschool.

Wow, what a treasure trove that could be.  Too bad i'll be out of town!

Thanks for posting about this, lyndi.

Ohh! Can someone PLEASE, please tell me what time the sale starts? I wish I had found out sooner and hope it's not too late! I've been trying to homeschool using the Montessori method and this could help out much! Thanks!

I believe they are starting at 8am tomorrow.  Do you need anything specific?

Mostly I am looking for any materials really, such as the metal insests, sand paper letters. I'm hoping the prices are good! Thank you so much for responding! I'll probably have to trekk down there with my 5 little one's in tow because my husband is playing the Folk Festival in town tomorrow morning! Oh well, wish me luck!

P.S. How did you find out about the sale? Are you also interested in the Montessori Method?

Hi,

We follow the Montessori Method at home.  I have two kiddos - 7 and 5 and we have been using this method for about 4 years now.  How old your little ones?  I don't know how much Miss Marie still has to sell but if you get stuck let me know - I can direct you to less expensive suppliers if you need me to.
