Recommended Website:   Learner.org: Interactives

http://www.learner.org/interactives/

Age Range: 10-13 (Grades 6-8, but students of varying ages may enjoy aspects
of this as well.)

Fellow ClickSchooler Gail Maunula recently recommended the free
"Interactives" section of the massive Learner.org website. Lots of new
content has been added since our last review of it - making it well worth
another visit.

You'll be impressed by the "Geometry 3D Shapes" presentation that provides
free multi-media activities about three-dimensional shapes. Students learn
about the mathematical properties of polyhedrons, cubes, prisms, cylinders
and pyramids and how to calculate their surface area and volume. Because
instruction is presented in 3-D format it makes it much easier to visualize
and understand.

When you get to the site you'll see the menu of learning interactives for
Math, Science, Language, History, and Art. Under "Math Interactives" click
on "Geometry 3-D Shapes" and a new page opens where the presentation begins.
When you are through with geometry, try "Math In Daily Life," "Metric
Conversions," and "Statistics" designed for grades 6-12.

Then, check out:

*Science Interactives - Designed for grades 7-12 has amazing presentations
on physics, DNA, the Periodic Table, Volcanoes, and more.

*Language Interactives - This offers literature explorations and even a
"Spelling Bee" for all grade levels.

*History Interactives - Discover what life was like during the Middle Ages
and Renaissance.

*Arts Interactives - Head to the "Cinema" and manage the production of a
film.

Bookmark this site, as you just can't see it all in one visit.
