Are there any science fairs for homeschoolers, or that homeschoolers can participate in, in Albuquerque? Curious about entering, but also attending...

Our co-op did a science fair last year and it was a lot of fun.  I believe the general consensus was that we'd try and do them yearly.  It wasn't a judged science competition, though.  I want to say I remember something about another group doing a homeschooler science fair but I don't know who that was or what it was like.

In the spring I think there is always a really big one at the Netherwood Church of Christ on Indian School and San Mateo.  I don't know much about it, except that it happens there!  Hopefully someone will reply who knows more, but you could probably get in touch with the church and see if anyone knows what group sponsored it, etc.  http://www.netherwood.org/

I think my two boys would like to do a science project to enter.  We have never done a science fair before so it will be new but science is something they really enjoy.  If anyone has any more information please let me know.  You can email me here or call 379-0375.  Thanks.

Hi Sherry,  I spoke with you on the telephone about Science Fair.  I was able to contact Heather Allen her email address is hallen@swcp.com  her home phone is
821-3612.  She is wonderful!  She is on the Board of Directors for (STEM) UNM Regional Science Fair.  She is also in charge of the Home School Science Fair
Research Expo.  She can give you any information you need about Science Fair.  As I thought, 6th through 8th grade can go on to State.  9th-12th can go on to compete at the international.  There are many other opportunities to compete in addition to these.  Heather can give you information and will walk you through any stage you might need help with.  I hope this will help you and anyone else that wants Science Fair information.  My email is lsewell02@comcast.net

Cheers
Lynn
