Good Morning All!
My name is Missy and I went to one park day last spring, everyone was wonderful, but I wasn't sure I was going to be homeschooling and my summer just got away from me. I am now homeschooling my 10.5 year old (well starting too at least. We were tried to get him into a local charter school and there were no openings, which I believe is a blessing in disguise.).
He is VERY (ok practically begging) to meet some other homeschooled kids. We live on the west side but my 2 year old has OT and Speech today so we won't be able to go to the west side park day. So I was wondering if anyone was going to be at the Thursday Park day with any kiddos around my son's age?
Thanks so much, I look forward to meeting new people to bounce questions off of (I tihnk we are going to go with sonlight, right now we are using some harcourt workbooks and some others as well) and just having a good time in general!

Missy,
Hi I'm Pamela and last Thursday was our first park day...it was terrific and there were alot of Mom's and kid's there...we were made to feel extremely welcome by this awesome group of women.  We will be there and I am sure there are several others, hope to see you there.  I have one son, Chase who is nine, I'm sure he would love to meet your son!

I plan to be there with my 10.5 yr. old (he'll be 11 in November), but he isn't always terribly social.

We also use Sonlight, but very, very loosely. Essentially unschooling with Sonlight. We also live in the west, but attend the East park day.

Hi Missy,

I'm Lizett and I have a 11 year old son and 10 year old daughter that are also begging to meet other homeschooled children their age! We too are homeschooling until they get into a charter school for middle school but we are enjoying the time while we wait!  We'll be there early(between 10:30 and 11am) on thursday. Hope to see you there!

Hi Missy.  There is a nice group of kiddos at the parkday - all ages pretty much.  Sorscha is 10 1/2 and last week she played with boys & girls.  We'd love to see ya'll come out & play!

Some of Sorscha's current interest are Pokemon, Bakugon, video games, the Warrior's book series, riding her bike like it's a critter, and lot's of imaginary play.

Thanks for the Replies Everyone!!!

We will probably be getting there on the earlier side as well as long as Alex is feeling ok, he gets his usual IVIG treatment on Wed (at home) and sometimes he just feels crummy the next day. (I totally spaced that is was already due this week, he gets it every 3 weeks)

Anyway... great to hear that there will be plenty of kids his age! Alex too likes video games, yu-gi-oh, star wars, and many other things that change from day to day!
Hope to see everyone on Thurs!!!!

Missy
PS
is the park easy  to look up directions for?

Thanks Everyone!

Alex had a blast, and Max is exhausted which is a good sign a 2 year old had fun as well. This Park day was just what we needed!
We will be in Denver next park day (Alex and Max are undergoing more immune testing next week there) but the following week I know Alex is already looking forward to.

Crystal, the link you gave is to a thread on the private co-op member boards, so Missy won't be able to read it unless/until she joins the co-op. You could PM her the info, though.
