I apologize for my delayed reponse. As I explained to Jackie via e-mail, fall is an incredibly busy season for us, so I have barely been in the office.
Most of your questions are very specific, and would be determined on a case-by-case basis. We occasionally do see younger students at UNM, but the exact process varies depending on the situation. Usually you can expect to round up some letters of recommendation, submit an academic transcript, and your child may have to write a personal statment. But, like I said, this can vary according to your child's situation. An admissions representative would be the best person for you to contact to initiate this process. The contact number for UNM's Office of Admissions is (505)277-2447.
As for the Lottery Scholarship, if the student is not a graduate of a public or accredited private high school, he or she must be a GED recipient. You may contact the Scholarship Office at (505)277-6090.
If you would like to visit our campus and speak with a University Representative, and if possible an advisor in your son or daughter's future degree program, you can call us at (505)277-2260 to schedule an appointment.
Thanks so much and take care!
